WATCH: WWE SmackDown Live 2/6/18
Last week SmackDown Live ended in a heat as we saw the beginning of the downfall of the friendship of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. Tonight this two-man will put their friendship on the line where they will face each other in a battle which will determine who will face the WWE Champion AJ Styles at SmackDown Live’s next PPV WWE Fastlane.

Clearly, Owens and Zayn are don’t see eye to eye since they lost the 2-on-1 Handicap match at Royal Rumble (READ) for the WWE Championship against Styles. Last week when Owens and Zayn were put in a tag team match against Styles & Shinsuke Nakamura we saw the “Yep!” Movement began to tear apart (READ). Quickly after the match, we saw how Zayn in an interview with Renee Young where he said - he won’t be known as simply “Kevin Owens’ best friend;” he’ll be known as the guy who beat Kevin Owens and became WWE Champion at WWE Fastlane (WATCH - WWE Fastlane 2017).

We also saw last week how Rusev became the No. 1 contender and earned his right to face Bobby Roode for the United State Championship title tonight.

We also witness how the SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair had a beat down from The Riott Squad and how Ms. Money in the Bank, Carmella attempted to cash-in at the wounded champion. Tonight Flair will face Liv Morgan from The Riott Squad, will Flair defeat Morgan and find retribution on The Riott Squad or will the Squad will make good on their promise that Flair won’t make it to Wrestlemania.

Show starts and Shane McMahon in the ring speaks about the main event match for tonight and how he doesn’t think that Zayn and Owens don’t deserve the WWE Championship opportunity. He then calls SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan to the ring, Shane then told Bryan that Zayn or Owens don’t deserve a title opportunity but some other wrestler does from the SmackDown Live locker room.

Shane then asks Bryan as to why does he keeps on giving Zayn and Owens opportunity after opportunity. Shane continues to say that Zayn and Owens are manipulating with Bryan and playing with his emotions as they know that Bryan still misses wrestling in the ring.

Just then AJ Styles music hit and he enters the ring and takes the microphone and says that he is the best wrestler ever step foot on this planet and he will do anything to defend his WWE Championship.  Styles continues to say that whenever the SmackDown Live management makes a decision for Zayn and Owens it directly affects him and demanded the SmackDown management to stay away from tonight's match as he doesn’t care who will win tonight – as he is a fighting champion and he will face anybody.
